Lee Spring LTR040D 30 S is a precision torsion spring from the Torsion Springs, engineered for applications requiring reliable quality rotational force. This spring features a 11.76-mm outside diameter (0.463 inch) designed to work over a rod/mandrel of 7.92 mm (0.312 inch) with a 1.02-mm wire diameter (0.04 inch). Made from Stainless Steel this spring delivers a maximum torque of 144.508 N-mm (1.279 lb-in) through its 10.667 total coils with a deflection to max torque of 300 degrees for predictable angular performance. The spring features legs with a length of 31.75 mm (1.25 inch) positioned at 300 degrees in the free position, operating at a radius of 15.88 mm (0.625 inch) with a body length of 11.86 mm (0.467 inch). This torsion spring has Passivate per ASTM A967 and a Right Hand direction of wind and provides consistent rotational force for optimal performance in angular displacement applicattions.

About the Torsion Spring Series

Torsion Spring selection are available in seven categories based on the free position of legs (90°, 120°, 180°, 210°, 270°, 300°, 360°) and both left-hand and right-hand wound springs are available.

Direction of Wind:

Good design dictates that torsion springs should be used in the direction that winds the coil. When ordering, select either LTL (standard left-hand wound) or LTR (standard right-hand wound) for required application.

Mandrel Size:

Generally, torsion springs are used over a mandrel (shaft or arbor). The column "Suggested Mandrel Size", allows approximately a 10% clearance for the various deflections shown in examples below. If you require greater deflection, a reduction in mandrel size is suggested.
